OrthoGlide Case Study #1
Patient History: 62 year old female patient with a 3-year history of right knee pain localized to medial aspect of the knee. The patient exhausted all other non-surgical options (NSAIDS, steroids, viscosupplementation). X-rays demonstrate loss of medial compartment joint space. Pre-op ROM ranged from 0 degrees to 130 degrees.
After Surgery: Patient stopped the use of a walking cane 4 days after surgery, and discontinued oral medication after 2 weeks. ROM at post-op day 13 was 0 degrees to 125 degrees. WOMAC pain and function scores showed pain and functional improvement at 69% and 77%, respectively. Six month scoring showed improvement to 73% and 78%, respectively from pre-op scores. The newest 1 year WOMAC patient data shows improvement of pain and function at 82% and 81%.
